Why operators choose Marnie.

Working with Marnie on our childcare feasibility study gave our church the clarity we needed to move forward with confidence. She helped us understand the market demand, operational requirements, staffing needs, licensing considerations, and financial realities of launching an early learning program. Her experience in childcare operations and mission-driven education helped us see how a childcare center could serve families, support our community, and align with our church's vision. The study gave us a practical roadmap, not just ideas.

I'd been running my center for nine years and I figured the chaos was just part of it. Marnie sat in our classrooms for two days, then showed me the math I'd been avoiding — our ratios were quietly costing me a teacher's salary every month. We rebuilt the schedule, the hiring process, and the way we onboard. Turnover is down by more than half, and last summer I actually took a vacation for the first time since we opened. She doesn't hand you a binder and disappear. She stays until it works.

We had a good school but nothing that made us different. Parents would tour us and three other places and we all sounded the same. Marnie helped us build a real curriculum identity — not a theme, an actual framework our teachers could run and explain to families. The maker spaces, the documentation, the way learning is made visible on the walls now. Our enrollment conversations changed almost overnight, because we finally had a story only we could tell.

I came to Marnie with a lease about to be signed, a dream, and honestly not much else. She talked me out of that building — which probably saved the whole business — and walked me through the licensing, the pro forma, the staffing model, all of it. We opened eleven months later at the right site and hit our enrollment target a quarter early. I tell every new operator I meet the same thing: pay for the help before you sign anything.

The feasibility study saved us from a half-million-dollar mistake on the wrong site — and then it handed us the playbook to find the right one. Marnie understands childcare as both a community asset and a real-estate decision, which almost nobody does. She got our development team and our future operator speaking the same language in one room. Best money we spent on the entire project.

We were three locations that looked like three different companies — same owner, three logos, three reputations. Marnie pulled it into one brand that actually feels like us: the name, the look, the way we talk to families from the first phone call to the first day. It isn't just prettier. Our tours convert better and the team finally knows what we stand for. I didn't expect a brand project to fix our culture, but it kind of did.

Our church wanted to launch a preschool, but every consultant we met was either ministry-fluent or operations-fluent, never both. Marnie was both. She respected our mission and still held us to the numbers, which is exactly what we needed. She helped us think through everything from ratios to how the program would feel on a Sunday morning. We're in year two now, full, with a waitlist. We could not have done this without her.

Our enrollment was a leaky bucket. Tours would come in, love the place, and then just… vanish. Marnie rebuilt the funnel from the first inquiry to the first day — the follow-up scripts, the timing, who owns what. We went from a sales cycle that dragged on for months to families enrolling within a couple of weeks, and we built a waitlist at two of our sites. The systems are simple enough that my front desk runs them now without me hovering.

I oversee curriculum for a small network, and our real problem was never ideas, it was consistency — every campus taught it a little differently. Marnie's train-the-trainer model gave us one shared language and a way to actually coach it, not just hand out another manual. Our newer teachers came up to speed faster, and the veterans felt respected rather than replaced. It's the rare professional development that was still alive a year after she left.

Marnie's command of early-childhood operations is matched only by her ability to turn it into a business case a board will actually fund. We came in genuinely unsure whether to open at all. She gave us an honest pro forma — including the version where we walked away — and the confidence to move once the numbers worked. She is, truly, in a category of one.

Our county had a childcare gap that was quietly strangling our workforce numbers, and nobody really owned the problem. Marnie helped us structure an employer-sponsored model that actually pencils out, bringing developers, employers, and an operator to the same table. It moved slower than a private project — public work does — but she kept everyone aligned for the long haul. We broke ground this spring.

Marnie is the rare operator who can build a beautiful program and a beautiful P&L — and make them the same project. She helped me reposition a tired daycare into a premium early-learning brand without losing the families who had been with us for years. The kids notice the difference. So does the bank. Worth every conversation.

The Common Thread

Dozens of schools, three exits — one obsession with how kids actually learn.

Operator, founder, author, mentor. The same question runs through all of it.

Now she's building the next generation of school founders.

The operating playbook that took two decades to write — every framework, every checklist, every hard-won lesson — is finally open. If you're launching, fixing, or scaling a school, that's the work.

The Engagement

Where do you come in?

Six kinds of clients open these doors — the founder with a vision, the operator who needs the numbers to work, the church, the developer, the community, and the school building a curriculum of its own. Find the one that sounds like you; it opens onto exactly where to start.

Before she sold them,
she built them.

Two decades. Dozens of schools. Three successful exits. One obsession — building the early-childhood experience she couldn’t find for her own kids, and then making the operating system behind it repeatable for everyone else.

Begin the story

There is a particular kind of person who looks at a broken industry and decides to rebuild it from the inside. Marnie Forestieri had three successful exits. One obsession: building the school she couldn’t find for her own kids.

I

She learned the industry from the inside.

Her first chapter in early childhood was as franchisee for a well-known Florida preschool brand — opening, staffing, and running the first wave of campuses across Central Florida.

It was a decade-long apprenticeship in everything the brochures don’t show: staffing under pressure, curriculum that drifts, occupancy math that doesn’t pencil, families who deserve better. She made a quiet decision in those years — the next school she opened, she would design from scratch.

II

So she built the school she couldn’t find.

In 2015, Marnie Forestieri bought a single struggling childcare center — and rebuilt everything inside it. She wrote an original curriculum, built a brand to carry it, and grew that one location into Amazing Explorers, a multi-site franchise system.

Then she did the rare thing: with the brand thriving, she sold it as-is and started over.

The result was Young Innovators Academy — not a refresh of what came before, but a new brand built entirely from scratch. New curriculum, new identity, new operating system — every piece reimagined and sharper than the last.

Along the way, incredible press coverage: two GrowFL Companies to Watch honors, a PBS spotlight, and hundreds of early-childhood professionals trained on a model other operators could follow. The real product was the playbook.

III

Then she sold the brand she built.

In 2026, Marnie's brand Young Innovators Academy was acquired by Red Apple Education & Charter Schools USA — her third exit in early childhood education, and the moment a hyper-local Central Florida brand became part of a national operator's portfolio.

The exit closed one chapter and opened the next. Marnie now packages two decades of hard-won knowledge — the systems, the curriculum, the operating playbook — so the next generation of childcare brands, operators, and founders doesn't have to learn it the way she did.

IV

The TED Talk that awakened a generation of parents.

How to Awaken the Genius out of Your Kids is the talk that turned two decades of classroom evidence into a movement. It reframed genius not as a gift a few children are born with, but as a flame the adults around them either protect or quietly put out — in the questions they ask, the silences they keep, and the small choices they make at breakfast, at bedtime, and in the car.

Parents, teachers, and founders wrote in from six continents. What the world took from those fourteen minutes wasn’t a method — it was permission: to slow down, to follow the “why,” to trust the child in front of them. It is now the throughline of every consulting engagement, every book, and every stage Marnie takes.

This industry demands some disruption — and that is what we're going to do.

Childcare Brand Development & Start-Up Consulting

Whether you are launching a single center or building a multi-site brand from a blank sheet of paper, this is the engagement that takes a vision and turns it into an operating business. Marnie has done this herself — started as a franchisee and founded two childcare brands and opened multiple centers — and brings the unsexy operational detail that decides whether a school opens on time, fills classrooms in month one, and survives year three.

Engagements typically run 12–16 weeks. Output is a complete operating package: brand, business model, licensing path, real-estate criteria, staffing plan, curriculum framework, enrollment funnel, and the financial model that ties it all together.

Then we rebuild the systems: enrollment, leadership, staffing, family communication, curriculum delivery, compliance, and financials.

Typical outcomes: shorter sales cycles, higher conversion, lower staff turnover, cleaner compliance, stronger margins. Usually completed in 8–12 weeks with quarterly check-ins built into the relationship.

Faith-Based Childcare Program Consulting

Churches and faith-based organizations sit on a unique combination of real estate, community trust, and mission — and chronically struggle to translate it into a sustainable early learning ministry. Marnie has worked alongside ministry leaders to launch preschools that are both spiritually grounded and operationally excellent.

The engagement honors the ministry first, then builds in the licensing, business model, staffing, and enrollment strategy a faith-based program needs to last.

FAQ

The honest answers.

Is this a live cohort?+

No. Both accelerators are 100% online and self-paced. You start the moment you enroll, move at your own speed, and keep lifetime access — there's no cohort to wait for and nothing to schedule.

Does Marnie teach live sessions?+

The courses are Marnie's operating system, codified into video lessons and workbooks you can use any time. You get the frameworks she built — on your clock, without competing for her calendar.

Are the courses available in Spanish?+

Yes. Both accelerators ship with a fill-in workbook in English and Spanish, so bilingual and dual-language operators can work in whichever language fits their team.

Who is this actually for?+

Funded operators and owners — opening a school or fixing one — who want the proven playbook without a full consulting engagement. If you'd rather we run it with you, that's what consulting is for.

Can I buy this for my whole team?+

Yes. Team and multi-site licenses put both accelerators in front of your directors and site leads, with onboarding and progress visibility. Tell us about your team and we'll size it.

What exactly is the workbook?+

A downloadable journal you fill in as you go — the audits, trade-area worksheets, budget templates, and action trackers from each phase. It's how the lessons become real decisions inside your own school.

The system is built.
The only question is when you start.

Open a school or rescue one — with the operator's playbook instead of guesswork.

Why most childcare start-ups fail

About this lesson

A former teacher opened her own center in a brand-new mall space — great visibility, beautiful layout, real passion. It still failed. In this opener we walk through the common reasons childcare start-ups don't make it — incomplete financial planning and no strategic roadmap chief among them — so you can build yours with intention instead of learning the expensive way. The follow-along workbook starts your own qualification checklist.

Speaking Topics

What Marnie talks about.

01

Innovation & STEAM Education

The small choices adults make every day either protect or extinguish a child's natural curiosity. Marnie translates two decades of running real classrooms into a blueprint for building rooms — and companies — where invention is the default, not the exception.

What the room leaves with
  • A working definition of innovation for young minds
  • The conditions that make curiosity compound
  • How to make learning visible to parents and boards
02

How to Think Like an Entrepreneur: Lessons from Preschoolers

Preschoolers are the most fearless entrepreneurs you'll ever meet — they prototype, fail, iterate, and pitch without shame. Marnie shows founders and teams how to recover the instincts that school and corporate life quietly trained out of them.

What the room leaves with
  • The five entrepreneurial instincts every four-year-old has
  • How to rebuild a culture of experimentation
  • Turning ‘failure’ into your fastest feedback loop
03

The CAPE Strategy: Curiosity Into a Framework for Life

CAPE — Curiosity, Action, Purpose, Evolution — is the operating system Marnie built running classrooms and businesses across two decades. A practical way to turn a flash of curiosity into creativity, confidence, and action that actually ships.

What the room leaves with
  • The four moves that convert curiosity into outcomes
  • How to install CAPE in a classroom or a company
  • Why purpose is the multiplier most teams skip
04

Women's Leadership

Two decades building schools. Three successful exits. Marnie has led in rooms where she was the only woman — and often the only Latina — and built brands the industry now studies. A candid, energizing keynote on leading with clarity when the playbook wasn’t written for you.

What the room leaves with
  • Leading without waiting for permission
  • Turning being underestimated into an advantage
  • Authority that doesn't cost you authenticity
05

Women in Entrepreneurship

Most women are sitting on a business idea disguised as a problem they've already solved in their own life. Marnie — who turned lived experience into three successful exits — shows how to find it, fund it, and build it without waiting for anyone's blessing.

What the room leaves with
  • Spotting the opportunity inside your own story
  • The capital myths that keep women small
  • From a side idea to real revenue
06

Reinvention & Resilience

Marnie has started over more than once — new country, new industry, new identity. This talk is about using change as a leadership advantage: how to rebuild after a setback, reinvent on purpose, and come back sharper than before.

What the room leaves with
  • A framework for reinventing on purpose
  • Metabolizing rejection instead of absorbing it
  • Why your second act is usually your best one
07

Purpose-Driven Success

Ambition and values are not opposites. Marnie makes the case — and the practical plan — for building a career and a business that compound your impact without costing you your identity, your family, or your faith.

What the room leaves with
  • Defining success on terms you can live with
  • Aligning the business model with the mission
  • Protecting what matters while you scale
08

Faith & Courage in Business

For mission-driven leaders and faith communities: how to navigate risk, rejection, and growth with conviction. Marnie speaks candidly about the role conviction played in her hardest calls — and how to lead boldly without losing your center.

What the room leaves with
  • Making bold calls from a place of conviction
  • When to hold the line and when to adapt
  • Leading a mission and a margin at the same time

What does innovation actually look like in a four-year-old — and how do the adults around them either feed it or quietly shut it down? Drawing on two decades of building real schools, Marnie shows that innovation isn't a subject you add to the day; it's a set of conditions you create. She walks through the small, repeatable moves — how you ask questions, how you respond to a wrong answer, how you make thinking visible — that turn an ordinary classroom into a place where invention is normal. Educators leave with a framework they can use Monday morning; leaders leave seeing their own organization in a new light.

Preschoolers are the most fearless entrepreneurs in the building. They prototype without a plan, fail without shame, pitch with total conviction, and iterate the second something doesn't work — and then we spend twenty years training those instincts out of them. In this high-energy talk, Marnie — who turned curiosity into three successful exits — maps the five entrepreneurial instincts every child is born with and shows founders, teams, and leaders how to get them back. It's part developmental science, part startup playbook, and entirely practical.

CAPE — Curiosity, Action, Purpose, Evolution — is the operating system Marnie built across two decades of running classrooms and companies. It's the throughline that connects a child's first “why?” to a leader's biggest decision. In this talk she breaks the framework into four concrete moves and shows exactly how to install it — in a classroom, a team, or your own week — so curiosity stops being a nice feeling and starts producing creativity, confidence, and action that actually ships.

Marnie has led in rooms that weren’t built for her — first as a multi-unit operator inside a national preschool brand, then as the founder who designed her own from scratch and sold all three campuses to Charter Schools USA. This keynote is honest about what it costs to lead as the only woman, or the only Latina, in the room — and energizing about how to do it anyway. It’s about authority you don’t have to apologize for, clarity under pressure, and leading authentically when the playbook was written for someone else.

Marnie has started over more than once — new country, new language, new industry, new identity — and come back sharper each time. This talk reframes reinvention as a leadership skill you build on purpose, not a crisis you survive. She shares the framework she uses to metabolize rejection instead of absorbing it, to rebuild after a setback, and to treat change as the advantage it actually is. Audiences leave believing their second act might be their best one.

Custom STEM Concept Lake Nona · Tavistock

Bringing a custom STEM preschool concept to Lake Nona.

Lake Nona Institute

In 2014, Marnie was selected by the Lake Nona Institute to develop a custom STEM preschool concept for the innovative Lake Nona community. Working alongside university professors and early childhood experts, she created one of the nation’s first STEM-focused preschool curricula — aligning early education with the community’s vision for innovation and growth. After years of collaboration with Tavistock, the concept launched in Laureate Park and was later sold, demonstrating how purpose-built early learning programs create lasting value for families, developers, and communities.

From concept to launch, Marnie delivered an early learning solution that reflected our commitment to innovation, family engagement, and community excellence.

A foreclosed building becomes the blueprint for a network.

Young Innovators Academy Oviedo

An old building began as a struggling independent preschool in a competitive childcare market. The goal was to redefine what early childhood education could look like — blending design thinking, STEM, and creativity into everyday learning. Through the Innovation Advantage™ Curriculum and leadership training, the Oviedo campus became a model of operational excellence and the foundation for the Young Innovators Schools network.

The campus became the blueprint for how innovation, structure, and purpose can coexist in early education.

Real Estate Reinvention Young Innovators Academy · Winter Garden

A commercial property reimagined as a community anchor.

YIA Winter Garden — real estate reinvention

Where most saw an outdated commercial property, we saw potential — great bones, ample parking, and a thriving community. Applying the YIA Real Estate Repurpose Model, the team converted the building into a vibrant early learning center through efficient space planning, safety-first design, and brand-aligned interiors. Winter Garden became proof that strategic real estate conversion can unlock new markets and impact communities while maintaining low capital investment and strong returns.

We turned a commercial space into a community anchor — a place where innovation and imagination come to life.

Feasibility Study · Faith-Based Winter Park Church Partnership

From faith to future — a feasibility study for a church-based program.

Faith-based childcare feasibility study

A local church wanted to use its existing campus to better serve families through a faith-based childcare program. Leadership had the vision, the space, and the mission — but needed clarity on whether the project was operationally, financially, and legally feasible. Marnie’s feasibility study evaluated square footage, classroom capacity, licensing, staffing, enrollment potential, tuition assumptions, startup costs, and long-term sustainability — producing a clear roadmap for whether to launch, how to phase it, and how to align the program with the church’s larger community mission.

Marnie helped us move from a meaningful idea to an informed, practical plan we could actually build on.

A small center finds its identity in a saturated market.

Ebenezer Academy Fishhawk — licensing partner

Located in a saturated childcare market, this small center struggled to stand out. Despite a caring team, enrollment growth was slow and the school lacked a clear identity that resonated with local families. Through the Young Innovators Licensing Program, the center adopted the Innovation Advantage™ Curriculum and community engagement strategies, repositioning as a creative learning hub built around STEM, design thinking, and family-driven experiences. Ebenezer became a thriving innovation campus — and our first licensing client, still operating on the platform today — proving that with the right systems, brand support, and mission-driven leadership, even a small center can compete and lead with excellence.

The right systems and brand support let a small, independent school compete and lead with excellence.

Common questions

Before you send the brief.

What's the typical engagement length?+

Most engagements run 8–16 weeks for build work and 12–14 days for diagnostic or feasibility work. Partner-tier retainers are 6 or 12 months. Marnie holds 4–6 active engagements at a time to keep her attention direct.

Will Marnie work directly, or hand off to associates?+

Every engagement runs through Marnie personally. Specialist contractors — legal, real estate, finance, marketing — come in for execution support, but the strategy, scoping, deliverables, and the working relationship are all hers.

Do you work outside Florida?+

Yes — Marnie works nationally. Most engagements run hybrid: monthly on-site visits anchor the relationship, with weekly working sessions over video. Speaking happens everywhere; travel is scoped per booking.

What kinds of clients do you take?+

Childcare entrepreneurs, school owners, faith-based programs, municipalities, master-planned community developers, employer coalitions, education nonprofits, and family offices investing in early childhood. Mission-aligned work only.

Can we just buy "an hour" of your time?+

No hourly billing. Diagnostic engagements and feasibility studies are the smallest entry points — each delivers a board-ready written output, not a meeting transcript. If even the Diagnostic feels too heavy, start with the free 30-minute discovery call.

How does the speaker booking process work?+

Choose the Speaking path above. Marnie's office replies within two business days with available dates, a proposal tailored to your audience, and the speaker kit. Most events book 3–6 months out; rush bookings are possible against availability.

Is Marnie available for podcast or media interviews?+

Yes — for outlets aligned with early childhood, education entrepreneurship, women in business, faith-based leadership, or Latino business voices. Use the General Inquiry path and include your audience size, format, and target air date.
